Tigran Tsitoghdzyan is a long-standing friend of Oleg Kushnirskiy and a great connoisseur of art. Our project and Tigran are bound by a shared passion for preserving cultural heritage. Although Tigran works in the style of hyperrealism, his deep understanding of craftsmanship and dedication to painting align closely with the philosophy of our collection. In this feature, we explore Tigran’s creative journey, his childhood in Armenia, and the new projects that are currently making waves on both sides of the Atlantic.
Tigran’s path began in Yerevan, in a home where music and art were a way of life. The son of a pianist and an inventor-engineer, he grew up in the atmosphere of an “anti-Soviet headquarters” filled with jazz vinyls and books on philosophy. Tigran had his first serious experience with painting at the age of five, when his father bought him oil paints. Attempting to unlock the secrets of Rembrandt, he intuitively began working with layers, creating the depth that would later become his signature. By the age of ten, he participated in his first exhibitions under the curation of Henrik Igityan. These projects gained significant recognition in Yerevan, the USA, and Europe, establishing the artist’s status as a child prodigy.

Today, Tigran Tsitoghdzyan lives in New York and is renowned for his monumental hyper-realistic portraits. His famous “Mirrors” series explores transparency and the layering of images, while his “Self-Isolation” project, conceived during the pandemic, captures the dynamics and internal struggle of an individual in a confined space. The artist constantly experiments, taking his art from canvas to the runways of Paris with his own brand, Hayeli, and exploring the realm of NFTs.
