About The Museum of Russian Icons
Established in 2006 by entrepreneur Gordon Lankton, The Museum of Russian Icons proudly houses the largest collection of Russian icons in the United States. However, the Museum’s scope extends beyond Russian icons. They provide an opportunity for visitors to appreciate Eastern Christian art in a global context, contemplating its connection to modern-day issues and ideas. By forming a link between history and today, The Museum of Russian Icons facilitates a deeper comprehension of the rich cultural heritage represented in the artworks.
A newly established Study Center is integral to the Museum’s purpose. This vibrant learning and research hub will act as a launchpad for scholarly engagement and cross-disciplinary study. Through a comprehensive range of academic and public programs, the Study Center is committed to spreading knowledge about Eastern Christian art to a wide audience.
